Can a fault in the hall sender effect tacho operation but still provide normal spark to the engine ?.
Reason I ask is the tacho in my Corrado is all over the place and now not reading much above 1500- 2000 rpm ,as I have a spare ABF dizzy I don't need so thought I would fit the sender from that to my CIS one as I have to do the shaft seal anyway...worth a crack as they say ?.
I think I read the hall sender is the same between the 2 but not the shaft ?.
    TIA,cheers.

kr dizzy is the same as 9a if that helps, so if you have a kr sat around swap whole thing and see if it makes a difference. though if the rev counter erattiv behaviour is being caused by the hall sensor, your engine would also run like arse
