Well i posted a few days ago under my old I.d, about my handbrake cables being too long and whether I had the right ones. I have an 88 16v with old 36mm calipers on the back, but no matter what I do I can only just take the slack off the new handbrake cables I have bought, so I thought I had the wrong ones, ie them being too long. I took them back to Midland VW centre who promplty got on the phone to Euro who supplied the cables, and after some investigating they found out they are the right cables So my question is, What am I doing wrong,Ive got the caliper sitting as close to the pads as possible, the cable followed the same route as the old cables did Can anyone help?????????/!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'd say u still have the wrong ones, there's only 1 way to put them on. is there any kind of model number on them? if there is then look up the proper ones on ECP's website and see if they're the same
well sorted it after realising i hadnt fitted the cables properly into the grooves on the new lever i had fitted I now have a handbrake, boy racer handbrake turns here i come
