It looks like the only 'real' info we will get is when someone either moves the 4 injectors out as far as they can, and maps to suit...

Or gets a 8 injector set-up completed and spends enough time on the dyno to produce a inner only/phased/outer only set of calibrations completed and stored in an ECU capable of holding 3 maps.

I'm planning on running symetrical inner and outer injectors on an ECU capable of holding 3 maps (Emerald K3)
If I can be bothered and I can sweet talk Eddie into giving up his time, I may do just that.
It's a long way from Aberdeen to Herr Toyotec in an unmapped 16v though!

That would be great to see - it would be great to add some numbers into the discussion

Working on it, but waiting for dyno repairs... outboard injectors were worth 10% on BTCC motors as a guide, so would expect less from a more roadie engine.

    interesting - 5% on a 1000hp engine, 10% on a BTCC motor

15% anyone? Maybe 15% at stealth, but 5% on DD rollers....only joking.

Looking forward to seeing all this data chaps!

Just add some nitrous foggers and chuck in 100bhp, not 10bhp :-)

    is that a 1000hp N/A??,

saw a 29hp increase on a Nissan BTCC motor, but they were running all 8 together not switching between inners and outers.

The reason i asked the question sometime ago was with Bargates 16v the engine was designed and the inlet manfold was made so the for the Engine Spec the injectors were positioned 300mm from the valve.

This would give optimum atomisation at higher revs 7 - 9k.

wether its true or not i cannot say but the engine does give good power delivery at high revs.

not with the new Throttle bodies .

and can't give away the exact measurement ! i'm sworn to secrecy ;)

The Jenvey DTH's are 150mm from back of valve.

    150mm from valve

lmao @ secrecy with a plain as day picture in the posts... lol

decent modern injector on good fuel pressure = great atomisation

to a point, higher pressure should yield a better atomisation..
we all know how well the direct injected fsi engine work..

modern injectors have far better spray than the "old days" where some facts now are more like myths..

I'm in the process of Mapping mine with 4 bar fuel pressure do you think it may be better to increase to 5 bar or even 6 bar ?
