went to fit my jvc from my golf (only taken me 9 months) ripped oem hu out only to find the connector blocks won't fit, it was a long time since i fitted a hu but I think I remember having a connector block come with the HU which I don't have anymore, so am I screwed or can I buy a universal one?

passat has brown and black blocks with "rectangular" connections and the jvc has one "female block" with round connections :)

i think you can buy universal ones... even halfrauds sell them.. if all else fails you can get rid of one style connector and wire the jvc or passat wires into a new matching connector OR put the whole lot on bullet connectors

Hellfrauds charge about 15quid for the connectors, they got them car specific. I normally do the bullet connector thing as Im incredibly tight.

Take the Head Unit - or just the model number - to your local Halfords or car audio shop, and ask for an adaptor to std VW plugs - the two rectangular plugs (with 8 terminal spaces each, although one will only have about 5 terminals) are in most VW's that age.

all the jvc looms are still available from autoleads so halfords should be able to get one
