went to fit my jvc from my golf (only taken me 9 months) ripped oem hu out only to find the connector blocks won't fit, it was a long time since i fitted a hu but I think I remember having a connector block come with the HU which I don't have anymore, so am I screwed or can I buy a universal one? passat has brown and black blocks with "rectangular" connections and the jvc has one "female block" with round connections
i think you can buy universal ones... even halfrauds sell them.. if all else fails you can get rid of one style connector and wire the jvc or passat wires into a new matching connector OR put the whole lot on bullet connectors
Hellfrauds charge about 15quid for the connectors, they got them car specific. I normally do the bullet connector thing as Im incredibly tight.
i was searching through the online shops and ould only find an adapter for my passat, but it was wrong.
yeah, didn't I say that, sort of? so, 6yr old JVC headunit, any chance of finding the proper one or am I gonna need a new HU?
Take the Head Unit - or just the model number - to your local Halfords or car audio shop, and ask for an adaptor to std VW plugs - the two rectangular plugs (with 8 terminal spaces each, although one will only have about 5 terminals) are in most VW's that age.
The brown and black blocks will plug into this then the other end plugs into JVC If it looks like this send me pm with address and i will post it....
Cheapo here, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JVC-JVC-ISO-1...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item3a593007e4 but think you might still need another vw - jvc loom aswell as this one.
