    Hi Guys,

I've got a lovely little Mk1 Driver (A Reg) with a 1.3l engine. Does anyone know whether a Mk 3 1.9 TDCL engine would be easy to fit as a replacement??

Your thoughts and comments would be very much appreciated. ;)

Wont be easy, but a TDI conversion was done recently in a caddy, was in one of the Golf mags.
Problem with the 1.3 is to fit the larger engines u need to chop off one of the mounts, flip it move it and re-weld :)

After that you'll need to source various bits n bobs, the MK1 chassis did have a Diesel option so parts are available. Thats as far as my knowledge of oil burners goes, good luck :)

Thanks mate, kind of confirmed my thoughts really - maybe i'll stick with the stock engine and keep things simple!

    Cheers!
