After draining & refilling my 8V 1991 GTI cooling system last summer, with the chilly weather on the way I find that the "hot air" coming from the heater isn't that hot

Could there be air in the heater matrix or something else limiting the flow of hot water to it and how do I rectify ?

Could be the heater matrix. They are prone to going. I swapped mine over in my Corrado and i had more hot air than I could shake a stick at!

IMO its worth replacing them - mine cost me 23 and a few hours removing the dash.

or its the bypass valves, or the foam on the air flaps has all fallen off
