heater resister where is it mkll

    where is the damnedheater motor resister located any one help 93 passat

    Well Etka is not helpful. Shows it as being either at the back of the engine bay (unlikely), in any scuttle panel behind the bulkead, or at the back of the dash board (centrally located).

    Cannot help any more than that. Sorry

    On a Passat the resister is located in the air duct for the heater motor. Look under the passender front shelf in the foot well. Under the foam cover you should be able to see the motor and the resister will be where the wires are connected.

    cheers people have looked under the dash can only see the loom to the blower motor do i need to remove the glove box to see on top.because there definatley is,nt any wires either on the sides or bottom of air duct any help appreciated adger

    Where the wires connect to the blower is the resistor, you need to get that metal part out.

    cheers harry - for that will give it a go tomorrow and let you know how i go on.just a quickie is it possible to repair these thing,s or should just replace the unit

    I usually replace them with one from a scrappy.

    how do i adjust my idle speed there appears to be to many screws on the diesel injection pump. vehicle is a 1.6 td passat
