My old memory's probably playing tricks again, but I had a few MK2's first time around and my recollection is the stickers weren't on the spots as standard. I also put a few aftermarket Hella grilles on a couple of VW's over the 80's and 90's and they definitely came with the stickers applied. Because of that, if it's originality you're after you could argue they're correct. Having said that I like them regardless and have them on my own car, get my vote.
However two things I don’t get are the hella full size spot stickers????? What happens when you want full beam?? Do they look good? Not so sure I’m sure some feathers will be ruffled by this one but why do some remove the GTI four light grill and replace with a two. Why would you want your Gti to look like a C or CL like why would you de badge an AMG C63 for example….not that we’re talking like for like of course
they were not on cars with factory fitted spots, i.e. GTI but were there on dealer fit i.e. UK only golf driver. plus any where the spot grille was bought aftermarket and fitted but yeah, put em on if you want
I put some on my Golf for a while and then replaced them with red ones. These are starting to fade so may revert to the original blue versions.
