New to me MK2 Gti project, having had at least 10 2 x MK1 3 x MK2 MK3, 5, 6, 7... Gti, GTD, R. Picked up a MK2 on eBay - local to me, non-runner last on the road since 2010. 1989 Helios Blue Anniversary model, with a 9A 2.0 engine from Corrado/Passat with the KR cams from the 16V Gti and twin 45 Dellorto carbs. Cleaned the fuel filters serviced the filter/regulator (seals, diaphragm, and filter), changed oil, filter plugs etc and got it running. New brake fluid front pads and discs (rears look newish). I want to get it through a MOT, needs headlining glueing and driver’s seat repairing, few bits to tidy up in the engine bay. Paintwork is terrible and will take some sorting, but generally solid does need some welding, but hopefully non-structural. Needs some BBS RA wheels as the ones on it are horrendous and a proper twin headlight grill.
