you'll need a wiring kit, get a 4awg ideally if you can. :)

There are LOADS of guides and forums to help with this kind of thing but to summarise...

You COULD run the sub off the internal amp in the stereo but it's pretty piddly so you'll be working the stereo hard for not a lot of power gain. This would be a little simpler to wire but if you've got an amp I'd use it.

    You need
Power cable from engine bay to amplifier (there's a grommet on the passenger side I've used) and at least one in-line fuse.
Earth cable from amplifier to suitable earth in the car (I've used a bolt under a seatbelt or similar)
Speaker cable from amp to sub.
Phono cable from stereo to amp (from the rear phono output on your stereo from the looks of it).
Remote wire from stereo to amp.

You can buy a kit from Halfrauds - or a cheaper, better one for car audio direct online.

Run the power cable down one side of the car, the phono cable and remote down the other - try to avoid crossing them as it will cause interference.

It's not a tricky job by any means in a Golf...just take your time and be logical - try not to avoid snapping any trim in frustration as I have done in the past!

    Cool,

With the wiring for the sub, should I wire it bridged?

Like the diagram for the amp in post#1, bridged L+ & R- ?

Ps I'm new to ICE! If you're wondering that this a strange combo (coz I don't know if it is or not) it was given from a friend of a friend's left overs! IYKWIM?

If I'm honest, I don't know. I just bought all the bits I wanted for mine and got someone I know to set mine up properly who was heavily into his sound systems so he got the best out of what I wanted :)

Okay, got an 8AWG kit today, it has an in-line fuse, where bouts should I fit it in the live?

I read somewhere that it should be near the amp?

Correctly fitted full false floor, AMP and SUB. All tucked neatly away under the carpets.

All done in in 3 1/2 hours.

Not too bad I think for my first major install considering I had all the seats out, dash off and trim removed.

    Sounds absolutely amazing...

This may be the least of your worries right now, but you definitely want the fuse as close to the battery as possible not the amp.

Or, if you get fancy with a distribution block, you could have another fuse near the amp too.

    Hi all,
    refitting the sub this evening.
I previously had this wired up from my AMP bridged.
    Should it remain like this?
    I'm unsure..

The AMP has speaker outputs L- and L+, R- and R+
    and only powers the SUB
