i have been looking for ages for a 1.6 mk2 driver, it needs to be black, manual and 3 dr in good condition, not bothered about high mileage and needs to have the late spec such as big doors etc.

am looking for one in the london area want to pay 500-600

Looked at one just like that about six months ago for a friend, but it was up at 1,250... For 500-600 it won't be that good conditionwise!

You mean the later spec doors with no quarterlights.

Have a look on the autotrader website, there always seem to be loads on there. I was looking for a driver years ago tho and couldn't find any, got a Mk2 Ryder instead... then a load of GTI's! [:^:]

im sure there are loads available its just alot of the time the people selling them dont give enough information about the car, the number of doors and colour is quite helpful, stupid t**ts [:x]

yeh and about 1.4 mk3's, who has driven one, are they really that slow, would it seem slow to me as a first car? and how do they compare to a 1.4 mk4 polo cos my sister has one?

    thanks.

too small an engine for a car that size...for similar money (and insurance) you'll probably get a 1.6.

1.8 driver is the best balance of insurance and performance really (when you're young), saw a decent one for 1500 a while back when lookin at for a car for the girlie but went with a 2500 polo 1.6 instead.
