help, ive found a passat gt 1988,rung the guy and he says its got the original engine and its a 1.9 i thought theyre were only 1.8 kr or 2.0 9a? what years had the 9a? cheers. Edited by: riley
Some people might say 1985cc isn't fully 2 litres so it's 1.9? Ask him what the capacity or engine number is on his shiny new V5C.
the cars a 1988 if that helps,it dosnt list a 2.0 gt on autotraders insurance site he didnt wanna look at the v5 for some reason.
have a look at this site: click engine codes for most vws from 1965 - 1999ish though I have to say I'm not sure if its 100% correct, still prettty usefull though
Whereabouts in the country - very roughly - is this GT? I've just phoned up about one that's going for 275 and spoke to someone who didn't know anything about it except it is a 16V G-reg, but her bloke is going to phone me later. So I guess a G could be a KR or 9A... Edited by: Trev16v
this ones way down south trev,450. wheres yours, but yeah,i thought the gt's were either kr-1.8 or 9a-2.0... passat gt,,,9a or not 9a??? Edited by: riley
I reckon A 947 is right. It would have been an 1800 16v then at some stage bored to 1900 Passats did have a 1921cc 5cyl but that was years ago in an Y/A reg GL5 models. These where not F.Inj either.
im starting to think,as seen as ill be using fancy crank/rods/pistons that i may as well have the kr block bored?
