I'm guessing that you'll see an OEM part number and then the VW part number, and you'll want to match both up. Can you post up a photo of what you see on your ABS controller? I have a MK5 of the same year so I could look at mine tomorrow and give you some guidance if that's any help.

This may be completely irrelevant, but have a quick glance at this thread from Briskoda.net. Lots of Polos and Fabias of the same era as your Golf have ABS lights pop on, and garages offer to charge several hundreds to fix what turns out to be a fuse that has failed/cracked in a box above the battery... Worth a quick look maybe?

Pete, I actually had exactly that happen on Lucy's Toledo the other week! I was all geared up to change the ABS unit, and then I read that the particular fault code was often caused by that fuse above the battery. Cleaned it up, reset the code from VCDS, and the fault has never returned.

Use photobucket.com or imgur.com to host files then use insert image when you post.

1K0907379K has been superceeded by 1K0907375K, and 1K0907375K is also a replacement for 1K0614517H and 1K0614517J. It's for front wheel drive vehicles with PR code 1AT which means 'for vehicles with ESP' if that helps
