I thank you both a lot! I whould love the get a crossflow head on that little heron but I think it will not happen... for now btw xD I have another heron engine that I will work on! I'm just too inexperiente on this kind of things, yet I love this!! Best Regards, Joo Ruivo
Going right back to the beginning of this thread, if your injection is dead, why not fit the bike carbs to the heron head? Manifolds are readily available
Well folks I'm getting on track again! I will get some bike ITB'S and megasquirt it, what do you think? Michey what is wrong with the AFT head on the heron? Best regards
Just seems a lot of work just to get a crossflow head, if you had the later 1.8 DX engine then the conversion to AFT/AKL crossflow is considerably cheaper/easier.. If you have a EG 1.6 (heron) engine and its only problem is the injection AND you want to keep the original engine then simply remove the injection system and replace it with your bike throttle bodies..
It may not be that dificult to fit the head, the worst thing was the compression but has I may be getting some pistons that may be solved The fitting I think it will be easy apart some welding that must be done. I'll be posting some pictures has the process goes Thanks mickey and Jon
