What would be a reasonable price to pay for a complete ABF engine? 200, 300, 400??

Seen one recently on egay for 350 but it's not even complete.

With the price of mk3 16v cars so low, why dont you buy a complete car and sell the bits that you dont need.

I sadly haven't got the time or space to dick about with stripping and flogging another car.

Get to know your local scrappy as well as you can. Yesterday: complete ABF, including alternator, PAS pump, etc, cable change box, ECU, loom and clocks. Spent about two hours getting it out.
Took the headlamps too. And a steering wheel. And three rolls of armoured cable. And probably some other stuff. Cost me sixty quid.

I got a complete mk4 2.0 16v passat estate with an ABF in it for 300 (means i can do complete 5 stud conversion with 288mm brakes too!), and looks like im gonna get all my money back by flogging bits off it :)
