Just got my renewal from Brentacre- 399

Mk2 Golf 8V, 2 litre bottom end, **** condition, worth 1000 (cos all mk2s are worth that)

I'm 45, 10 years NCD, 1 speeding conv in 2010, 1 fault claim 2009.

Thought this was a bit high so called Footman James, even worse at 519 but they promised somebody would call me back to try to improve the quote, four days later no call, great service

HIC next, slight improvement at 365.

 

25, MK6 GTI, 235bhp, 600

 

I know that my postcode doesn't help, being on the edge of Southmead.
But nearly 400 is ridiculous.

 

True, Have you asked Brentacre why its so much? How much was it last year?

Pah - that's nothing! Pathetic Bora, max NCB, annual mileage under 5000, aged 21 and a bit. Last year, Zurich upped my 250 premium to 420, so this year I expected it to go up again.

I wasn't disappointed. Despite nothing having changed, they decided this year's price would be 1065 !! Which explains why I'm now with Tesco, paying 360

 

Brentacre have matched HIC's quote of 365 so I've stayed with them.

I may have been able to get it a bit cheaper but I find the guys at Brentacre so easy to deal with it's worth an extra few quid imo
