after a quick google seems 1.5 is the max adjustment possible so it should do you, though if its the stub axle thats bent I'd just replace it. maybe go for the stronger polo/ibiza stub axle setup? https://www.clubgti.com/forums/inde...-stub-axle-on-a-golf-mk1-to-mk3-guide.177988/
the stubbies are chunkier, and the bearings are larger. tbh for normal usage it makes no odds, though it does mean disc swaps are cheaper in future as its a separate hub/disc setup
I also see the bearing is tightened with 175 Nm. The bearings on my MK2 need to be tightened by hand, then turned counter clockwise until the pin fits. Good to look into then when I need to replace something on the rear anyway
tbh the cheaper disc cost is pretty well offset by the massive cost of the kits these days now everyone has cottoned on to it
I was taught to tighten the hub bearing up then back it off until you feel it "give", hard to explain really!. Regardless there is very little preload on it.
Yeah thats more or less what I meant. At least the pin has to fit anyway and the preload should be very low indeed.
there is a factory torque setting to use with brand new bearings to ensure they're seated, then you back off till you can just about shove the washer without leverage. main thing is you dont go too mad, have bearing overheat and wheel fall off
