Images in Signature To add a picture to you Signature the image needs to be stored on a publicly accessible web server e.g www.photobucket.com then enclose the full URL in tags like : [IM G]http://www.mysite.com/my-picture.jpg[/IMG] 'URL' is an IT geek speak abbreviation for Uniform Resource Locator, but all you need to know are that it's the bits in red! ie the web location of the picture itself. Whack it in the [ /IMG] brackets and it will appear on the forum. To find the URL, right click on the image, hit properties and the URL is the text-string address of the image location. [img]http://www.clubgti.com/merchandise/_imgs/th_CGTIcolour.jpg To put the image in your sig: Click on the User CP link at the top of the page Click on the "Edit Signature" link. Insert the photo code to the "Signature" box Don't forget to include the [IMG] [/IMG] tags. Images in Posts The easiest way to put one in a post is to click the button and paste the URL into the popup box. You need to store the photos in a photo account, eg photobucket, Flickr, Imageshack etc - we do not have images attached to the server. Don't forget to include the [IMG] [/IMG] tags. Clickable Signature Images To make the image in your sig clickable, you need to embed the destination link within the photo code... By clicking on the picture, it takes to to the Club GTI homepage, like so: Don't forget that sigs can only contain a maximum of 200 characters NOTE 1. The HTTP:// in front of the image URL is important so don't miss it off. 2.Image types supported by the forum are : Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpg or .JPEG) Graphics Interchange Format (.GIF) Portable Network Graphics (.PNG)

ok..in your photobucket album there are URL's listed below each picture. URL, TAG, IMG copy the info in the "Img" and paste it into your post. It already has the required tags either side of the image URL. For example...in the sample album they have on the site the first picture..."Sand Sculpture" has : URL: http://img3.photobucket.com/albums/v13/demouser/1299.jpg Tag: <img src=http://img3.photobucket.com/albums/v13/demouser/1299.jpg > Img: [IMG]http://img3.photobucket.com/albums/v13/demouser/1299.jpg[/IMG] Copy the information in the IMG box ( [IMG]http://img3.photobucket.com/albums/v13/demouser/1299.jpg[/IMG] ) and paste it into your ClubGTI forum post. Job done
Wow, That is big!lol You need to resize it. You can do it in microsoft paint and re-upload it to photobucket. Saying that i think photobucket can resize it for you.
Hi, I am trying to repair broken image links i my older posts. I uploaded my pictures to some img hosting site. I can copy the URL and open the picture in browser window. I can put the picture into this forum usig IMG tags, I can see the picture i "preview", but as soon as I hit "safe" or "post reply" all pictures ar gone, just the "red X icons".. whats wrong ? is the problem between chair and keyboard ? or is it some limitation of free img hosting ?
many img hosing companies dont like hotlinking, and some of those that do mess up when fed through our image proxy system. easiest and best option is upload the images direct to the forum then they'll never get lost
