    Hello all.

I have a wierd problem on my 1.6 avu petrol engine. 2002 mk 4 golf. It has a misfire on cylinder 2. it has the 8v Aluminium engine block with the roller bearing cam follewers.

It has fuel and a good spark. Engine compression is good. But it has soot on the back of the inlet valve....

My question is: What's the likely hood that a hydraulic tappet is causing this? The inlet valve tappet has a rough spot when i turn the inner part in the outer part.

thanks in advance for any replies:thumbup:
