Hey, Thought i'd let you know how much of a idiot I really am. I went out last sat to pick up some wheels all the way down in kent. I did it, fit one , but only with a single nut to check as the wrench was not long enough, and then bought the wheels. Got home gave them a wash, wow, really nice. I tried to fit them on today and just realised that only one nut goes it [:^(] ! The other three are the wrong spacing.. too big. Now I need to find someone to buy these wheels from me, I htink thye fit fords.. argh im such a fool..
im sorry but that is a real schoolboy error! hope they didnt cost you too much!!! what were you thinking! Edited by: CabrioRags
Am I missing something? How come the wheel fits on the centre rim with a bolt in place if the bolt spacing is wrong? Cheers, Drew.
because u can spin the wheel round on the hub to line one bolt up. its just the other 3 holes won't line up
Still don't get it. Call me stupid if you like (calm down everyone)... If they are 4 bolt rims, shouldn't the spacing be the same assuming the rim fits properly on the hub? I can understand if they were 5 bolt rims obviously... Cheers, Drew. Edited by: drew
they not come off a VW then? took some wheels off a caddy to fit my mk1 golf, the front two needed spigot rings to sit properly on the hubs, the rears weren't even the same size hub as the fronts so how they had safely sat on the caddy i don't know...plus the fronts wouldn't do up to stay tight
Hello They fit around the hub/rim/metal chunk/ perfectly, just when you put one in, no other bolts can go in.
best get finding some ford forums to sell them on! you never know you might make a profit on them, good might come of it yet.
Spigot rings don't hold the wheel on, they just make fitting them easier. Wheelnuts aren't tapered/radiuse(sp) to make 'em look pretty
I know that it was for them to sit flush. took them exactly off the caddy to fit the golf, now as far as i'm aware they should be an exact fit? but no, two days of messing about they didn't fit or want to fit....
I can`t understand, if the centre bore is 57mm you should either be able to get all the bolts in or none. If the wheel is slack on the hub then you could fit 1 bolt but not the rest.. Ford pcd is 4x108 I think?
