What a f*cking heap of sh1t. the lying c*nt told me it was mint, and all original. the N/S rear arch was full of filler and the whole N/S had been very bady painted, and the O/S rear quarter was scratched too.

Gleaming????....f*cking lying c*cnt. Not happy. 280mile round trip and a whole day and 57 wasted.

    not happy, time wasting lying c*nt. [:x] [:x] [:x] [:x]

no good then??? :p i take it he just constantly lied when you spoke to him before you went?? scumm mate no other word. noone would hold it against the seller if they were just honest, all they have to say is that its rough and that the price reflects this. your both no worse off but youd be 60 quid up. especially bad when you tell the seller that your making along trip. im suprised that sellers dont get lumped in the face with this kind of antics

yeah, but the c*nt didn't tell me it was in whittlesey, at his mates garage (who had added 1100 to the price!!!). the tw4t gave me a peterborough adress, which was nothing to do with him or the car!! so we spent half an our driving around the asian captial of peterborough (nice....) then we had to find this dump out in the sticks, only to know within a minute that the car was an utter dog.

I should have known it was going to be a complete waste of time when I saw the ad....

grr whats worse is when the seller has sold it to some one else when it was promised to you!

wasted an afternoon going to see a mk1 in suffolk, had first refusal of it, got there and the guy had just sold it to some one else,

yes i'm surprised i didn't lump him. seeing as it was a very tidy example!

i hate people that aren't up front with the truth-saves a lot of hassle!

    Don't get many 2.0 8v's.

I presume you're more after a shell than the engine?

I hate it when people talk bollox about a car for sale.... I went on a 200 mile round trip to look at a mk2 16v. The bloke selling it was a bodyshop worker and told me there wasn't a single spot of rust on it. When I got there it was one of the rustiest cars I've seen, the bonnet was like lacework, and it's had a really bad paint job - tape lines everywhere. So I told him where to shove it, and "accidentally" stoved in the wing on one of his other cars on the way out. [:x]

Introduced 2l 8v as a a consequence of rising insurance premiums. Dont see many of them as they are truly gutless and their owners probably drove them off of cliffs in shame.

Phat, still reckon you'd be better off buying a shell and buying parts. Saves you having to waste journeys, dealing with people who having got an f-ing clue.

Nsah, I'm going to look at a Blackberry '93 VR6 today for 2900. More than I want to spend, but I know I can sell the engine on (I've already got one to go in it).

The idea of the 8v was that it was a cheap way of getting a late car, and 1995 ones have all the VR6 panels on them you see. And it would have freed up a 2.0 to stick in the jetta syncro too.

That 4400 145K VR6 storm is still biting at me though......but if I got that and cut it up for 4WD I'd end up with my head on a stick!
