I have now raised the complaint directly with Direct Line. Been advised that UK Assistance will be in touch within 48 hours. Will let everyone know how it goes.
That's the problem with insurance approved 'accident repair centres' I'm afraid, they employ monkeys and just try it one because 90% of people wouldn't notice and the same people won't have the car in 3 years time when the poor repairs really start to show... I'd advise anyone who cares about there cars to find there own decent repair place - either a coach works, panel craft or proper restoration type place that doesn't do insurance stuff normally. Cowboys
I agree, but you dont have a choice on the bodyshop with Direct Line. Cant fault Direct Line though, they have been very good. UK Assistance are now coming to inspect the car on Friday.
Gutted man, hope you get it sorted. When my old car went in for insurance work it took 6weeks and it was a terrible job, just to top it off the car had another 500miles on the clock and a pair of someones smelly workboots in the boot shocking what these 'repair' centers get away with. I just let it go, the car was worth very little in comparison to yours though. Plus I had trashed the hire car which only had 27miles on the clock when I got it, gave it back with nearer to 3000, went on holiday twice in it
nothing, and i mean nothing is as quick as a hire car got a blue motion mk5 when i went to spain, only person driving a 'green' model still getting 15mpg i reckon...
My wifes new car, Audi A3 btw, was hit whilst she sat in carpark last week. Insurance told her to take it to their own sh***y repair centre and get her even sh***ier courtesy car and pay them the excess on completion. I took it to Glasgow Audi who in turn recommended Accident Exchange who turned up with like for like A3 and took her car away and the car is being repaired at Audi also no need to pay the excess either. Bit of a no brainer tbh. You can use any repair place of your choice no matter which insurance company your policy is with and if it is a absolute non fault then use Accident Exchange.
UK Assistance have been out to assess this morning. They are taking the car back in to fix the problems. Lets hope that its perfect next time.
They apologised and admitted they should have been repaired, but they had not been marked out when the damage happened. To be honest, a blind monkey could spot them, so god knows why the professional body prep and sprayer couldnt.
when they inspected thier own work prior to handing it back to thier customer they would/should have checked along all those lines for overspray etc
Agreed. And it went to QC twice as well. They havent been in touch yet, inspected last Friday. Taking the **** now. If they dont ring tomorrow, im ringing them. Been more than reasonable and more than patient.
Car is back again. Looks great, gave it a good checkover, but not with a fine toothed comb yet. Also called the dealer, they said they would give us between 6000-6400 for the car. Saves selling it privately, as we have it up for 6250ovno.
I asked them if they wanted to buy it outright, they said yes. They only have 2x Ibizas in stock according to the website. So either they already have a buyer on the lookout for it, or want to increase stock. Who knows.
