hi i need some help. i just took my insurance out with another company for my mk2, i got a declaration form i need to fill out and send back. the trouble is i dont know what make/model the immobiliser is cos its just a black box, it also asks the company who fitted it? i removed it and fitted it again and im a maintenance sparky so im not sure that will qualify.

i cant afford a new alram. does anyone know an alarm off the top off there head i can put down cos i dont know what else to do. i know its cheeky and could void insurance

i could tick the box saying it was fitted during manufacture?

    thanks guys.

dose the immobiliser have a plugin key or fob
if you post up a picture up of it that may make it easier to identify

as for fitting it your self i dont that will qualify

and some insurance companys ask for certificate that you get from the company that fits immobiliser or alarm

do you need to have a immobiliser as the last time i asked my insurance company about the one in my mk2
it made no diffrence to the price of the insurance with or without it

if they need a certificate it will need to have the make and model of the alarm and it will also need the serial number of the alarm/immobiliser and the name and address of the company that fitted it amongst other pieces of info
just pay the money and get a cat 2 immobiliser fitted
it should cost no more than 100 fitted
