has done only 58000 the engine is in very good condition the coil is new i've checked the earths all seams fine. the fuel pump sound ok.
58k is pretty low, no chance of a sticking valve due to lack of use? were teh faults read on vagcom of one of the generic code readers? are teh plugs coming out sooty?
I don't think there is a sticking valve cos is not continuously. Sorry can you explain what is teh? I've got vagcom on my laptop and i have done lots of scans no faults.
HI guys again I've replaced all the vac hoses nothing changed. I cannot believe it I have spend about 600 on engine and still not fixed. Is here anyone who can fix it. i will come to you and pay you. please guys
Dam mate, aint good news! I was hoping one of your solutions would solve the problem so I could follow the same route - 600 and it still aint fixed...I feel your pain!!!
have either of you put the car on vag-com yet? The cable costs about 25 on ebay and you can use a free trial version of the software to read the fault codes... Just double check which cable you have in your car first
Yes I've got VAG-Com on my laptop I have scanned it over a 100 times and there is no faults. I will never in my life buy a golf again.
Tiku hi I am getting the same problem did you manage to sort out what it was? I'm getting g71 fault code. Does anybody know if this is the air sensor on the air box? Please help
Have you set the throttle gap and checked the thottle switch. Also, i assume you have replaced the vacuum line to the ecu, and lastly changed the one way valve on the back of the inlet manifold. It sounds very much like an air issue, so use your ears as well, an abf is constantly adjusting and managing air to fuel mix. If the idle gap is not enough, when the system shuts the isv, you may be choking the system of air. If you think about an air con putting load on the crank, you will need more fuel, if there is not enough air in the idle gap, the the isv is letting it idle up with a lean mix, then when it closes, you are rich and you stall, specially with air con loading the crank Fuel is constant, air is variable. If the ecu line is open, the car distinctly oscillates rpm, hunting for vacuum to stabilise the idle. A cold start on my abf idles at 1100 and after a short while distinctly drops to 900. If the aircon system is not working to tell let ecu idle up, the dont use it and see if the car behaves better, this may isolate your problem These are just a few ideas, nothing gospel, but others may have input. Dont give up. Throttle gap document is in rubjonny signature
