After giving up trying to get into boot mode on this ecu I have recently found out I don't need to get into boot mode
Is this a case of removing the eeprom from the ecu, reading it, changing the correct sectors then re flashing it, plugging in and away we go??

I am having g trouble finding any info in English to do what I want
    Can anyone help??

Easiest way is to send it off to someone who already has the hardware and software to do the job, pay them, as it will cost you more to buy all the equipment/software in the first place!

I attempted and failed to do the immo off
But luckily Toyotec did it for me as well as a few deletes to get it running ok
He did say he had a few issues doing the immo off and had to try 5 times before his software forced it

I used an adapted galetto cable and an earth switch to get into boot mode
Using a 12v power supply and PC with the ecu all connected trying to read the files, I failed but was using the correct tools and methods, my ecu didn't want to know and my talent ran out
I'll post a link to my progress, I still have all the leads and odds and sods

We used vag commander to read the immo file
I noticed it had a immo switch as dose the hand held tool I have

I fitted high line clock in a mk5 a week or two back that was fun not
The first time I tried the vag commander I had was not the same as the one in guide I was fallowing wtf lol

Ended up getting a copy of the right version from someone else

It's always nice to see the problems other people have and what they did to get round them
This is never shown in any of the guides you see they tend to gloss over them
By saying you need to fix xy and z but never tell you how

We need the get a few threads going on hear about this kind of thing
Wish I'd taken more pictures when doing some of the things I've had a go at

Even a fail is a good opportunity to learn had a few of them my self

Would be good if you could start can thread showing what you did

There are some pretty clued up guys on nef and you really have to be able to help yourself if they are to help you.
They do not like to 'spoon feed'!

In the end [strikethrough]Dave's[/strikethrough] Steve's ECU did take a bit of persuading to read and write the E2PROM but got there in the end.
I have seen a few ECUs like that over time too, so this is not a first!

    Aye I did think that
One of the reasons why I did ask
Just searched around till I found what I was after

To by honest I was only interested in the location of the immo data and how to work it back to get the pin

I got there in the end

The fact you had trouble with it is why I don't tried more

It's still something that interests me but I know me limits

Being able to read and up load a file back to the ECU would do me just now

Would save needing too get a second ECU
