Anyone got one of those incar mini fridges for keeping drinks cool?

I wouldn't mind one but unsure how much strain they put on the car battery whilst its not running?

I've got one, but haven't got round to testing how much it drains the battery, have been meaning to test it bu texams keep getting in the way!! [:x]

Have a feeling mine may put a fair strain on the battery though as its quite a large "mini" fridge for a car!! [:D]

Are they not "proper" fridges but just some kind of "chiller"?

Get an invertor and one of those beer fridges in the boot.

Mines a proper fridge and gets really nice and cold, use it in my room most of the time but have the option of running it from my inverter or the ciggy lighter, depending on which is easiest!!

Haven't found a decent place to put it yet though, at the moment it just gets strapped into the passenger seat with the belt and a bungee [:D]

i have a 12v cool / hot box depending on the wat the plug goes in . i used it at alltypes and unplugged it when i got there and the tinnies where still chilled at 3pm when i left . inverters will chew up your battery if the engine is not running. i am considering a second battery in the boot for bvf

  Thats definately an idea for the summer!!!

My fridge does hot and cold, tho not sure what I'll ever use the hot for! Holds 18 big cans of beer [:D]

I'm thinking of a second battery too, to power the inverter and all my ICE.

Remeber to check that your cigarette lighter works with the ingnition off, I'm sure some of the more modern cars don't!!! So no coool beer in that case.

The mk4 has a 12v accessory socket in the rear hatch area that works with the ignition off.

BUT After LMUK comments i probably wouldn't use the cooler with the ignition off.

Be good for days out/shows n stuff though.

At Deva Dubs on Sunday couldn't get a cold drink for love or money [xx(]
