How much mileage is on them as they have a shelf life so to speak I just got some brass ones for 105 quid as my originals had 190000 miles on them and were pretty rusty!! I think professional cleaners can do them but might cost nearly as much !

Kminjection will flow test them for you for 1.50each approx, they can't actually clean them just flush and give you an idea on the spray patterns

Yes I know what you're saying ;) but KMI are experts that do kjet mods for various tunners and racers:thumbup:

I've got 20 kicking about and need 12 good ones so I'll get them tested

I`d get 12 checked, if there are 10 good ones, then just keep checking until you have 12 decent ones. No point checking all 20 if you only need 12.

You don't need to be a expert to check the spray pattern of 20 injectors
You can do that yourself then only send the ones that look OK

I used to get ones for my mk1 from xr3i's in the scrap yard as the 1.6 gti used the same injector as the xr3i

I would remove one injector from the engine use a old one to blank the injector hole then screw the one to be tested on start the engine
You can then see what you have
If the spray don't develop put your finger over the end of the injector for a few seconds and let go
You should then have a pattern you can look at
You can rev the engine a small amount if you need to

Keep the good ones bin the rest

If you really want to get fancy you could test all 4 by bypassing the relay
And holding the flap open just like nige did to test the metering head

Evening guys, what's people's opinion / input on uprated metering heads from KMI? Anyone using one on there road cars?

Heard a few people run the uprated metering heads in the race series.

How do you know what's required? For example % uprated? TSR use a 20% on there engine conversions from what I have read but one tuner I spoke with said 5% is ample.

Got the keep the kjet love kicking

I've spoke to KMI and they can do upto 30% more fuel on a kjet head and like you say they do 20% extra for TSR .
My engines are 2 ltr so about 12% more cc than standard then I've got a ported head and manifolds plus bigger cam profiles so I think each of these would be call for extra fueling . The problem is its a mechanical system and not as controllable as a digital fueling system :(
But like you I want to keep a kjet system on two of my cars so I'm very interested in what those in the know have to say .

Just found a receipt from KMI for an updated metering head, main pump, accumulator, WUR and 4 injectors that I had done for my race car.

I could have put it on f*****g Motec.

Seriously, if you don't HAVE. To have it on k-jet, then upgrade to EFi.
