insurance and cars off the road.

    What do you guys do. Obviously if your MOT and TAX runs out you can't insure your car.

    But it can still get nicked etc, and if it does, you are a big buggered.

    How do you cover yourself?

    House insurance if its in the garage ?

    I used to have a Beetle off the road in my garage as a project, I had a storage policy on it through HIC for about 60 per year-the car was valued at 1750. Might be worth looking into...

    yeah, some companies do laid-up cover :thumbup:

    remember to declare SORN to DVLA :)

    im with more than and they will change an existing policy to off road status and decrease the premium

    Im pretty sure you can still insure your car if its off the road, you make sure you tell them!

    My GTD is insured even though its off the road, it isnt sorn though as you cant sorn a writeoff, untill its been VIC checked, hopefully should be finished tomorrow, just need to plum the back brakes, get it MOT'd and arrange a VIC.
