Hi, im new on this forum but have found it very very useful so far, I own a Alpine white, 1990 Golf mk2 GTI that used to have a 1.8 8v digifant engine in it, but the diff blew a hole in the gearbox casing, so now i'm thinking of fitting a carrado/golf mk3 gti/passat 2 litre 16 engine. I'm aged 19 and have a full lience etc for 2 years, and am trying to get insured on it, does anyone know any insurance companies that might insure me. Try these and they said no: Tesco's Cis Elephant Liverpool Victoria Tried Performance Direct and got a quote 1800 3rd party fire and theft, that i thought wasn't too bad, but i want to see if anyone knows anywhere where i can get it cheaper. While i'm on the subject of engine conversions, does anyone have any websites, word documents or pdf files on how they have converted a 2 litre engine into a golf, or is there any links that may point me in the right direction. cheers ally tee
check out the thread in vehicle chat there are a few links in there. TBH you gonna pay a lot cos of your age. I'd be suprised if you can get below 1600
