Quick question any ideas whos the best for my mk2, footman want 458 for 10yrs ncb and im nudging forty soon!
Sounds like a rip off at that price. Try Sky Insurance, Brentacre, Flux etc. Should be sub 300 at least. Mine is =)
Our sponsors other than FJ, are Greenlight and Brentacre. Hopefully one of them can help you out. The car might be a bit modified for FJ on a single car policy.
Every year it comes round and ****es me off. It annoys me having to spend 750+ per year to use a car once in a blue moon. Loathed to sell as too much history and money put in to it but it sits sad and lonely at the spare unit. Unhappy.com
I've just renewed my insurance with Greenlight.. Excellent service, policy and price for my requirements - 3k per year fully comp, or mods declared fully covered for 250. I can now drop in a 20VT or ABF or whatever I like and not see a increase in my premium as long as I keep it to 185bhp or less. I dealt with a chap called Neil, clearly into and knew about his Golfs.
I just insured my Mk1 with Heritage Classic Car, under written by Chaucer and mods declared and no NCB on this policy and it was 256 fully comp with a agreed value and cover for club organised trackdays, hillclimbs and sprints
B - Call Greenlight and speak to Neil. Tell him Dex from Club GTI and Mazda Mincing forum put you in touch. He insures my hairdresser's car and nobody else gets close on the quote, the car is insured for unlimited mods (as long as they're listed) and the rate is set by the power level.
I just re insured my mk2 8v I used bridle Insurance again , 3000 miles per year and on a driveway Classic policy with no ncb used , no mods and I'm 42 129 full comp Bridle insurance down near Southampton.
Neil at greenlight FTW! He practically told what id done to the car told me he wanted some pics to put on their website and then knocked my socks of with a 239 quote! Continued ncb as footman policy didnt, 3k per year all mods declared. Happy days time to get it motd and start enjoying cars again! Thanks for help mucho appreciated
It pays to shop around and also it pays to have some insider knowledge from Club GTI members. In the past I have used Greenlight for many years with one problems. The owner for Greenlight has been a member for a number of years and is a big fan and supporter of the club
I tried them but they were more expensive than the other quote I had received....which was surprising as they had been really competitive in the past...hey ho
