Just wondering if a golf 4motion is any quicker than a mk3vr6? also how does it compare to similar performace car ie civic tr etc??? what are peoples general thoughts about these? Craig.
would of thought it would be as its a 4wd vehicle. Never been in one though so couldn't comment on it compared to a VR Edit: Also known to be one of the most problematic golfs ever produced. Edited by: slick
Slightly quicker but the difference is negligable. Probably comparative to the mk2 16v vs mk3 vr6. The power to weight ratio offsets the heavier cars bhp advantage so the end result means the more powerful car is quicker but not stupidly quicker.
my mate has a fat mk4 v6 4 motion.....pictures to come soon r32 body kit and pipes....18inch oz, koni, eibach etc, heated leather recaro's he used to have a mk3 vr and tbh chasing him in either there isnt much of a difference......but im sure its easier to remap and get big power from it.
204bhp standard. Around 230 with a chip and exhaust. They can be supercharged too - just like the VR6. I like them
Been in both a mk3 vr6 and mk4 4 motion. Not a lot in it on the motorway. However, off the line to 80 mph is another story...
My friend had a Corrado VR and now a Bora V6 4Motion, I have driven them both on longish distance journeys and I think the Corrado is definately the quicker of the two! Alan
Fairly evenly matched in the dry, no contest AT ALL in the wet I actually hope for slippery roads these days
In the dry, a Corrado 2.9 had 2 car lengths on me 40-70 and I couldn't pass him until silly speeds were reached. And in the wet, 4mo is great as you do not need to alter your driving style - just plant your foot, it won't break traction unless you try really hard to do so. MKIV 2.8 is no slouch though, Spent a day with an Audi A4 Cabrio 3.0 and my car just wipes the floor with that; stuninglu slow for a 3.0 despite its weight.
