Just wanted to know is the vw corrado vr6 2.9 and golf mk3 vr6 2.8 using the same gear box(gear ratio)?
Yes. I believe there were some claims once upon a time that the 'rado one was different, however that was tracked down to Canadian Carrado's having a different 'box due to having a 2.8 engine, unlike its european counter parts.
Im new at vr6, Ive just finished my mk2 vr6 AAA, and Im still learning, but I was told that corrado final ratio is 3.6 (more or less) and golf is around 3.3 so corrados ratios are shorter. Was that information wrong? p.d. canadian corrado is 3.9 so its even shorter. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=642917
nope raddo's are 3.3 if you want a 3.6 or 3.9 box you have to build one out of 2 boxes i am doing mine at the minute
Ok, understood. Im planning the same; I have a 1.8 16v broken corrado gearbox and a golf mk3 2.0 16v gearbox to do the trick
After doing some search from the net i manage to get the gear ratio for the euro corrado vr6 2.9:-1gear 3.78,2gear 2.12,3gear 1.46,4gear 1.03,5gear 0.84 and final drive 3.39,golf vr6 2.8:-1gear 3.30,2gear 1.94,3gear 1.31,4gear 1.03,5gear 0.84 and final drive 3.39. So the rado vr6 2.9 first, second and thirt gear have the closer gear ratio compare to golf vr6 2.8 and the rest of the gear ratio is the same.
