jetta project- save it or scrap it?

    ye scrap it mate, more hassal than its worth. Plenty more bargains out there. My dad got his for 150, and hardly no rust. Keep looking. Mat

    If you can deliver it to NI I'm sure TSC could fit it in his fireplace.

    if the fuel filler is that bad, the sills are probably just as bad, it probably wont pass an mot, none of my jettas have had that much rust around the filler and theyve all had real problems with sills so i think in all honesty is a piece of scrap metal

    the engine itself doesnt look any different to a standard 1.6 jetta tx engine to me? dip stick is the same as my mk2 jetta 16v

    edit you might be able to get somethign for them smoothed rear doors tho!

    got me a jetta gti 16v prefere them to golfs and always have! scrap it looks worthless and nowt special either! if you want a jetta - nice one like - bout 300+ for a good late big bumper model 1.3 - 1.8 maybe even a gti!!! always about old people like em see!!!!!!!!!

    It's a wrong-un - sorry!

    Take any good bits off and scrap the rest - an 1800 GU engine isn't worth worrying about either (engine number is on the front of the block, btw.) Although things like the carb, alternator, starter could always be re-used.
