Some p.g componants. The tweeters dont say which wire is + or -. There is 1 yellow and 1 yellow and black. Cheers
neither did mine, i have crystal comps, but, with mine one of the terminals is bigger than the other, and the connectors on the wires are different sizes, tim
You can use an AA battery - jus touch both wires to the battery, and if you hear a pop its the right way round. Can easy find out which is which that way.
Right mine arnt the have the same connectors on em, what the hell can i do??? Cheers oh n when i played music when bass came on th headunit went dim !!! whys this
The HU is dimming because you dont have much power. Are you running it off the battery with the engine off ? I good install is a massive drain on the battery. If you plan on running the sounds with the engine off add a power cap ! Edited by: superden
yeah it was with the engine off yeah. So when + goes on the + of the speaker and the - on the - it will pop? Cheers if thats right the yellow black is the +
a power cap isnt always the best thing to do, get a better battery, and make sure your alternator is up to charging it, tim
You dont need a cap and a better battery unless you have a big (ish) system. Normal decent (e.g Bosch) battery and VW alternator are good enough for most things. Just me getting carried away Edited by: superden
Cool. Cheers. It does take abit more volume on the HU to get it going loud but is alot better sound but i recon ive got the tweeter running the wrong way as it distorted when putting the volume up.
oh rite, there is no reason why your hu should dim then! i thought you had a big system, ive got hu, comps, 12"x2 subs and two amps so i have different power needs tim
A battery will tell you if the wires are the right way around... Sorry --- Anyway, it doesn't really matter if your tweaters are 'the right way round' just make sure they are both the same way. i.e. connect the same colour wire to the same polarity both sides. Usually one has a stripe down it (or some other marking) this goes to negative.
I agree, the power coming from your Head unit/amp is A/C so it makes absolutely sod all difference which lead you put to positive and which one to negative, as long as they are all the same or else you will get phase differences.
