Having done some research. I understand that people have turbo'd their engines in various cars using k-jet management with great success.

Now, I have a C reg golf gti sat here running k-jet. If for example I decided to turbo it, Could I use a full porsche 924 turbo K-jet metering system to run the car without any hassle (Which is a 4 cylinder 8v turbo engine). I can sort the turbo itself and the plumbing wont be an issue!

If not, would I be able to use a full Escort RS turbo KE-jetronic setup to manage a turbo'd gti?

Any advice/feedback etc would be great! Mike.

i've looked into this a fair bit, the biggest thing is that the turbo must be between the metering head and throttle body, so that it sucks through the metering head, not blowing through (otherwise it will act like you pushing down on the plunger giving to much fuel and bogging the bugger..

there's quite alot of topics on the whortex ;)
to be honest though mate if you want a better delivery i would go efi, like megasquirt or something simular, as long as you have a hydro head (85 onwards i believe) you can fit PB digi 1 injector cups (you may not need to at all) and then go for g60 or bigger injectors,

the k-jet system on an 8v is good for 200bhp+ so i hear but the delivery across the rev range wont be as good as EFI.

i have the same engine in my scirocco, and i'm looking at going supercharged (no i don't want a G60!) ive chose to start saving for Megasquirt II ver3 simply for the ability to control other things like water injection etc but also to control my fuel and spark electronically.

i you were to go down that route, you would use the map sensor built into the board, a TPS (like the 16v passat automatic throttle body) an inlet air temp sensor and coolant temp sensor (MS is set up already to use the indestructable GM ones however you can use the slightly frail bosch ones (blasphemy i know!)
and a few other bits and bobs excluding the turbo rig it's self ;)

hope this helps a little. sorry it's not all about k-jet systems from Porsches and volvos, but when i researched (have been for the last 2 monthsa bout FIing the 8v.. k-jet didnt come on top with results) ;)

look for user motha on here with his "downunder" MK1 thing.
"Great success" is subjective though particularly when you have cheap EFI available.
