k24 or k26 for 1.8 16vt

    hello all

    currently building my 16vt, some specs are

    s2 rods/pistons
    s2 intake/zorst mani
    1.5 bar map sensor
    g60 ecu


    trying to decide if i should go for a k26 over k24 has any one got any information what i would expect from this turbo. my knowledge in this areas a bit shady, idealy i would like a rs2 turbo but they seam hard to come by.....thanks in advance:)

    The k24 7000 from an S2 IIRC spools faster and flows more than the k26.

    As tshirt says, go with the k24 7000 and forget about k26. Although the k24 7200 is an even better turbo ;).

    Bit more lag on the 7200 though. plus they are alot more . Was thinking about hybrids on these for mine.

    Seen a gt28rs hybrid on 034motorport. Would be a better choice than the RS2 one.

    thanks for the replys.

    well ill stick with the k24 7000 for now until i find a 7200. whats the best bhp have people got from 16vt with k24 blower?

    I have the K26. Currently running 270 bhp :) Well.. That was until i took it apart. It currently has 0bhp. Also have the same Stuff as you have above.

    Its been restricted by the 2 Inch Downpipe and 2 1/4 inch exhaust i have :( Seen exactly the same setup with 2 1/2 inch downpipe and exhaust running 308 BHP.

    What k26 is that, from what car? And what boost was it running? When does it start boosting?

    KKK26 #6 From a Porche 944 Turbo. Running about 15PSI 8k Rev limit. Boost started about 3k if i remember.

    Got a torque plot vs engine speed for that set-up?

    Might do ill have a look in my pile of paper for it. If not its getting done again when its back on the road and ill post it then. :thumbup:
