When I do a job, I really try to do it well... Including bending rods, it seems! Bent in 2 planes, AND twisted! [8(][8(][:*:][:*:]

Proper Job! That's on par with the soft watches in Salvador DalĂ's The Persistence of Memory

It's a 1.8t, for those not on the know... 2 bent rods, 2 broken ones, various holes in the block and one in the sump.
Literally no warning.. Driving, came on boost and BANG!! clatterclatterclatterclatter.

Oh stock. Not my build, tbh, I'm not a 1.8t person. I've been told since BAM rods are weak?

Most people seem to be of the opinion that 300lb/ft is about the limit which that spec engine could definitely have had. Or a poor map with power spikes, too much boost etc

I think it ended up on the road to be honest, was data loggin at the time and no Knock before the event so it was just catastrophic engine failure!.

A rod took the crankcase and cast iron girdle out.

All my own fault tbf, live and learn!.
