KR metering head

Ive a spare metering head but I've been told it has to be immersed in a liquid to store it or it will seize up over time (rust etc).

What is the best 'preservative' to leave it in? Petrol, diesel, white spirit?? Not really sure what's the best or if anyone's done this before with the metering heads. It'll obviously get cleaned out again when it's gonna get used.

I normally plug all the taps/holes, and spray it with wd40 and seal it in a freezer bag.. .

 

As above - freezer bag is your friend.
