Hey guys, I own a fairly early MK2 GTI and would like to add to the retro with the GTI badges that appeared on some MK2s.

Will I have any issues with this come MOT time?

Car is on an E plate, registered '87

Thanks for any help you guys can give me

Technically, it'll fail the MOT as it has to be pre April 86 to get away without having side repeaters. But I know of people who have deleted their side repeaters on much new cars and the MOT tester has turned a blind eye or not even noticed. Or you can just put the side repeaters back on for the MOT and swap over to the badges after.

Ahhh pre 86, sods law that!

Thanks for the info mate, Think I'll go for it, as you say its hardly a mission to swap the repeaters over come MOT time

Repeaters are cool! People coming from the side can tell if you want to turn.

How my mate gets away with it is he ran the wires from the side repeaters and extended them into the wingmirror housing so whenever it's MOT time he just double side tapes some repeaters and wires them up temp under the wing mirrors
