Lowering Springs

    Would 40mm lowering springs for a mark3 1.4cl fit and be ok for a golf mark3 2 litre 8 valve gti ??? cheers

    probably be a lot lower at the front as the 2.0 engine will weigh a lot more.

    find out what brand the springs are and check there listings...could be possible they do one for all, or say i spring set for 1.4-2.0, and one for vr's and diesels. just an idea.

    i def wouldn't go for them if they are specifically designed for 1.4's tho.

    I am only asking cause my gf has got a 1.4 with 40mm lowering springs and i was thinking of putting them on my carto see if it rubs and if it dnt and they r ok i wud keep them and get her a set of 60mm lowering springs

    well, check with the manufacturers of the springs first...but i think its a bad idea.
