Who has what, where did you get it and how does it perform?
    I believe it's O2A gearbox, that's right isn't it @dodgy
Also, what's involved in installing an LSD?

Quaife for meeee if it’s Road use.

It was fantastic, absolutely transformed the car from absolutely useless to amazing to drive.

I got my box rebuilt as the same time, so can’t comment on that

    Mk3 vr6 o2a @PhilRyder .

Now I really don't know if its compatible, but rover used vw gearbox for a while, but think pre PG1, so probably not, the rover 200 brm has an lsd as standard, they pop up occasionally.

I have a Peloquin in my GTI, that has an 02j which is really only a newer 02a (?)

Lovely for road use, you wouldn't know it's there until you boot it on the likes of sharp direction changes or pulling away on Loose surfaces

Well, Quaife seem to be best value not to mention being very well known and in the UK.
Next question is…is it a DIY fit for a competent DIY mechanic (ie me, just in case you were wondering [:D])

So not getting much info on this which is surprising.
After some enquiries it seems Wavetrac is the way forward. Apparently the Quaife needs maintenance periodically? And also it seems the Peloquin is a copy of a Quaife.
I’ve messaged GasnGears but I think they are closed for a couple of weeks.
I’m still keen to know if this is a DIY job or not. Anyone?

Give it a go, don’t break anything taking it apart and then if it all goes wrong take it to someone who knows

I don't know about maintenance, on a quaife or Peloquin, there's no plates to wear out.

Of course it's possible to fit, but you would need some mechanical competence, pullers etc.
So I'd say you'd manage it.

Just seeing this thread right now lol. Opened a similar question a few days ago [:^:]

What kind of tools are needed to work on the gearbox? Does it require anything special?

I need to know this too, especially if there are fine tolerances that need to be set when putting it all back together again.

    020 with a 4.25 FDR. Not applicable to the VR6, which uses a 02A

It is not a DIY job, if you wish to get it right.

Have a chat with Matrin, who can supply, fit an ATB and preload.
He can inspect and check and replace bits of the gearbox that needs attention also.
