Sounds like my MAF sensor is playing up from what i have read on here. My mate is a mechanic and this is the first thing he said. Any ideas how much they cost? The car is under warranty till august but it didnt show up on the diagnostic machine so they wont change it! No surprise there then.

    whats the problem-- surging etc

Could be that the standard plastic bosch dumpvalve has stuck, this is the most common problem and can go with little miles on the car. Dirt in the injectors etc

I would have thought the MAF would of showed up on the VAG-COM.

I would rule out other smaller problems first, as a Replacement MAF isn't cheap!!!!!!

If it's under warranty - break it properly (in a subtle manner), then it'll be replaced......
