Main bearing advice

    Hi, doing a rebuild on a 1.8 EV engine my main bearings are lightly
    Worn but as I'm into this far I'm just gonna change everything.
    My question is my mains seem different from some I'm looking at
    On herritage.mine are shimmed on the thrust bearing.can I use
    Flanged type.thanks.

    try to get the type with the seperate shims, ring around local engineering shops and engine builders, they should be able to help source decent bits. I think GSF used to do decent quality bearing sets as well, but not sure these days

    If your believe mains are worn, you need to take the bits to an engineering place and get them to check, rectify and supply the main components. That is how it usually works.
