I find that quite hard to believe with that spec. [:[]

but to be fair andy thats all that car had, and what sort of
respray did you get for 2500? non oven baked high solids i
expect:lol:. the only thing i havent changed is the subframes
    and shell/paint.

    well wheels(ronals)(550), exhaust(250), refurb
    gearbox(550), suspension(270), clutch (50), alternator
    (100) weber carb (250) comes to 2020.

its had a whole cooling system from radiator to heater matrix,
including hoses and pump(price that up from vag!). new fuel
system including rear sender and all lines, pump, and carb
flange. new starting/charging systems from coil to starter motor
with blue ignitor leads. new sump and oil pump, gaskets and
bolts. also new pulleys for water pump and drive belt crank
pulley with new bolts(all from vag). brakes and wheel bearings
front and rear, only things that are original are servo/master
cylinder and front calipers. all new engine mounts. suspension
has had new wishbones and bushes plus gti antirollbar fitted
with all new bushes, clips, and bolts(from vag) rear suspension
has had new rear axle bushes and top mounts (from vag).
whole of gear selector bushes replaced( from vag) short shift
and shift weight(from vag), interior has had new rear side
carpets and flat boot carpet (from vag) plus various little bits of
trim replaced to be perfect ie pedal rubbers and speaker
grills(from vag), new bumpers,(200 plus 100 to be sprayed)
from gsf also new arch trims, new wiper arms front and rear,
    door seals, door window seals.

plus loads of dress up bits like gearnob, steering wheel, bonnet
lifters, carb filter, rocker cover filter, door pins and so on. but i'm
not counting them, neither am i counting the 1100 worth of
    stereo.

not because i had to, because i wanted to.

do the math you tight fisted scottish get!

You really are a thick shit aint ya [:[]

I had a full bare shell, colour change respray including interior and engine bay, done using water based paint and baked by a pro bodyshop for your information. 50 hours labout on a shell i had completely stipped and had all the mods pre done, inlucing a full shotblasted and acid etch primed engine bay.

    :)
