Hi all, looking for a little help! i have a mk2 20vt conversion, a few years ago I suffered a stroke which left me with left side weakness, Obviously I would love get my golf back on the road so i need to change it to auto. What gearbox would fit? it currently has a Passat 02A box on it, I was thinking of sourcing an auto box from an Octavia RS, to match the engine? but would this fit? Any help/advice would be appreciated
You’d be looking at what I believe is the DSQ250 box which requires a standalone management to run it, as it never came in 1.8t form? As far as I’m aware. Eddie knows all about getting them to work, he’d be your man.

Some people have fitted the DSG gearboxes, always interested me for mine but never looked that far into it.
Could you not just fit an auto mk4 box ? ,in my country many of the mk4 GTI's were auto as prefered in the JDM market ,not a lot were manuals ,roughly 70/30 split ,now sure about the UK spec cars however ?,cheers.
