Damn good that from a stock bottom end and head! Seriously tempted. That with a slippy diff would make an absolute blast of a car.
Often thought about doing something similar with an mx5, the duratec engine can makes up to 200bhp with just throttle bodies. Sbd performance claim 240bhp with cams as well! Sent from my E2303 using Tapatalk
I know the the Ford Duratec 2.0 engine, which is similar to the Mazda unit, can achieve 200ps + usually with a few mods to it. I would wait to see the performance figures from the car first though.
The Duratec cyl-head is One of the best flowing heads, std its as good as many full race ported heads !
IIRC Mazda MZR was taken by Ford and re-badged as the Duratech, they are great motors, though known to be a little fragile with big revs and, weak rods, and a non-forged crank Standard they have 35mm inlet valves so that will help keep the duration short while maintaining the volume of air for that power But I agree, for NA and emissions legal that is pretty bloody good, being BBR means it will be a motor suitable for regular use, not a short life screamer
That's a really good spread of torque, must be good fun. Not sure i could justify the cost but i bet it would hold is value well if kept in good nick Sent from my E2303 using Tapatalk
