Mclaren SLR Stirling Moss

    Saw it near Victoria station on Wednesday, had to google it as I had no idea what is was just saw the Mercedes badge.

    So this is what one looks like

    And that was def Stirling himself?

    I don't think he lives too far away from that area. Somewhere Victoria-ish, though I imagine that's well tucked away!

    Yeah, the driver was a bit younger then Stirling :)

    It was also raining & it doesn't have a roof :lol:

    Stirling Moss and Mercedes have long-standing ties.

    This is the swansong of the McMerc SLR, and a tribute to him.

    The styling was `influenced` by his 1955 Mille Miglia winning 300 SLR;

    The `722` numbering in that car was to signify his start time of the race (07.22), with each other car being numbered similarly.

    Another McMerc tribute to him is the SLR 722 GT racer;

    So while the link may appear tenuous to the less informed, Mercedes actually still hold him great asteem, for what is surely the most outstanding piece of driving ever. Almost certainly never to be bettered...
