yeah both pumps will be fine from the relay, thats how mk1s are from factory anyway the metal bit on the rail is the fuel pressure regulator, it can deal with both lower pressure efi and high pressure k-jet pumps no problem. on my abf im running a mk2 16v k-jet pump which is basically the same as a mk1 pump just sat inside a plastic fuel reservoir rather than having one separate like you'll have
As said above - the standard ABF FPR will be fine, and the rail will allow you to swap to higher pressure versions if you need. Some VAG cars have a 4 bar regulator as standard (I run one from an Audi A4 8v).
Thanks Mike thats reassuring I love this Forum...............I`ve been on a few (all enthusiastic) but the level of expertise here is outstanding. I`ll get the little devil going (touch wood) soon and then get back to y`all Kind regards once again
I`ve ordered one, thanks. It has four outlets/inlets I assume if fitted on its side....... Lower double end pipe from lift pump into exp tank Top double end pipe from fuel rail return Large low single end pipe to secondary in line fuel pump Hi level mid tank from exp tank back to main tank I assume if orientated correctly this would be self venting or is it not an issue?
looking at the left picture of the reservoir: its orientated with the pipe on the right side on top. thats the return to the tank. the one right at the bottom on its own on the back is feed to main pump. on the front the pipe on the left is feed from lift pump, one on right is return from engine bay piccy from vag-cat, you may have to sign up:
Thanks for the clarification John I was right and the more I think about it - it will self bleed air via the top return to the tank I`ve now got a Sytec pump and am picking up the reservoir on Friday so (fingers crossed) it should be running over the weekend
