I have a MK 3 Golf GTI, and the engine surges on tick over.. I was having a poke around earlier today and it seems there's something near the inlet manifold, that plugs into the manifold with a rubber grommet? The grommet is loose, and is sucking in air, hence the engine surge. My question is, Will this extra suction cause my car to use more fuel?
