Well should I look in to doing this to mine....?

I know this has probally been done to death, but whenever I search it crashes.

Was thinking of twin 45DCOEs, but was a bit perplexed as to what to do about the distributor and wiring, initial thoughts had been to use the ignition system from a mk1/2 driver?

Also the radiator, that would obviously have to change, but what type has typically been used...?

If anyone has any information on what to do with regard to ignition and the wiring set up or knows of where to get such information.... let me know.

I have just finished this conversion,

You need to run the standard distributor for the 16v and run the 16v ingnition ECU, this is only 2-3 wires quite simple.

As for the rad it is quite difficult to get space, it needs to be mounted more to the right hand side for clearence of trumpets ect.

The best bet would be to have one made up that fits under the front slam panel, I know there are a few people that want these made up...possible group buy??

Thanks chap, what about the Throttle position sensor wire to the ECU, have you fitted a TPS to the carbs? I have read somewhere about using a polo ignition harness and ditching the ECU, this would mess up the ignition timing though?

Do you have/could you put togther a picture showing your wiring conections?

The throttle switch to the K-Jet ECU is an on/off switch not a TPS pot. As
far as I know it's just used to control the idle stabilisation valve, which
you obviously won't need with the carbs.

Have a look at my members' motors thread for one answer to the radiator
    problem:

That's the one I used (ordered it as a Corsa GSi part but I'm pretty sure it's
the same). It's also a Passat part for one of the B3 Passat diesels I think.

Not that I found. I just got a handful of suitable looking pipes with 90-
degree bends from the local motor factors and made them up, extending
the bottom hose with a piece of steel tube. The fan thermoswitch wiring
needs extending too but it's only 2 wires. You could do a different fan
bracket to me or use a Pacet fan but I wanted to use the VW fan and the
steel sheet was free so it cost me nothing to do which was my top
    priority.
